Setter Fun!

Humans say when life throws lemons at you make lemonade. Dogs say when life throws an unexpected turn at you, run like the wind with it!

The first home I was in didn't work out, due to no fault of my own. But a very nice foster home decided I could stay with them for two nights until my perm. foster home opened up, and they are nice too! They welcomed me with open arms and lots of kisses!!!

I was a very stressed out girl when I came into IBR, two days on a transport from KS will do that to a girl. A very nice couple drove me all the way from the KS shelter to Joliet, IL! There the foster care coordinator picked me up. I walked right up to her and let her pet me. I gently put my paws up on her and let her scratch behind my ears. That felt nice.

She took me to the dr, I had a little problem, but they fixed it. I had my vetting done in KS and my spay stitches were not taken out. The very nice doctor took them out, but my tummy was a little sore, but I'm OK now. So, I have all my shots, I'm spayed, and I have a micro chip, and I'm heartworm negative! YEAH! I do have a few worms, but those will be cleared up in a couple days.

I'm OK with other dogs, as long as they don't come charging after me. I get a little defensive then, but like the volunteers keep saying, I'm getting used to all of this. I've really settled in and I'm figuring all of this out.

I'm good with men, women, and children too. I can be cat tested if you have a cat. I didn't pay attention to them at the dr. office, I was to busy wagging my tail and play bowing the other dogs there.

Come back soon and check on my progress.

Setter Smiles,

Ashlyn
