Permanent Home Wanted!

Ashlyn, is healthy and ready for adoption!

Ashlynʼs perfect adoptive home would.......

1. Know Ashlyn bonds with her owner very fast and needs to be assured that you will not hurt her. She will sit on your lap and coo as she is petted.
2. Have to understand she loves her crate and that is her house, she feels safe in there. She doesnʼt think a crate as punishment.
3. Have to understand thunderstorms are loud and scary and she wouldnʼt mind you petting her or allow her to cuddle on the couch. She would be fine in her crate too.
4. Need to feed her good quality food, she is never late for a meal!
5. Not have to have real young kids. She likes older kids, over the age of 8 would be best. She loves adults, especially the one that feeds her!
6. She would be fine with or without another canine companion, She doesnʼt like dogs sniffing up on her. She will confront those dogs with nosey noses. She doesnʼt like much attention from male dogs.
7. SHe would love a great game of chase in a fenced in area. She doesnʼt wrestle with other dogs just loves to chase each other

Ashlyn was rescued from Kansas, she is up to date with all of her shots, is micro-chipped and has been spayed. She has had a litter prior to rescue. She is crate trained and quite at night in her crate. She walks well on the leash with my 9 yr old son and only barks to come in from outside. Her hints are subtle when she has to go out, so if you catch her by the door she needs to go. She likes to eat her bones in her crate facing the back of the crate and buries them in her blankets when she is not hanging out in there. She loves the couch and looks around the house for someone to pet her. She lays on my daughterʼs bed while she listens to her IPOD. She is just happy to be part of a family. If you are interested in Ashlyn being a part of your family please fill out an application. She is ready and waiting!

Ashlyn Update

Ashlyn is really settling in and becoming a big snuggle bug. She really loves to cuddle and would prefer to lie on your lap. She snuggles right under your chin and wants to be close; she is a lover and loves kisses. She is taking pleasure in being able to come inside during this warm weather and finds a great spot on the couch and leans toward the fan. She is doing well in foster care and is very adoptable. She has cute black freckles on her nose. She prefers to play with people and isnʼt too interested in playing with other dogs. She is eating good quality dog food and is in good health.

Setter Fun!

Humans say when life throws lemons at you make lemonade. Dogs say when life throws an unexpected turn at you, run like the wind with it!

The first home I was in didn't work out, due to no fault of my own. But a very nice foster home decided I could stay with them for two nights until my perm. foster home opened up, and they are nice too! They welcomed me with open arms and lots of kisses!!!

I was a very stressed out girl when I came into IBR, two days on a transport from KS will do that to a girl. A very nice couple drove me all the way from the KS shelter to Joliet, IL! There the foster care coordinator picked me up. I walked right up to her and let her pet me. I gently put my paws up on her and let her scratch behind my ears. That felt nice.

She took me to the dr, I had a little problem, but they fixed it. I had my vetting done in KS and my spay stitches were not taken out. The very nice doctor took them out, but my tummy was a little sore, but I'm OK now. So, I have all my shots, I'm spayed, and I have a micro chip, and I'm heartworm negative! YEAH! I do have a few worms, but those will be cleared up in a couple days.

I'm OK with other dogs, as long as they don't come charging after me. I get a little defensive then, but like the volunteers keep saying, I'm getting used to all of this. I've really settled in and I'm figuring all of this out.

I'm good with men, women, and children too. I can be cat tested if you have a cat. I didn't pay attention to them at the dr. office, I was to busy wagging my tail and play bowing the other dogs there.

Come back soon and check on my progress.

Setter Smiles,

Ashlyn
